How We Got Started

The roots of Specs For Vets began back in 1991 when two veterans, including a Vietnam veteran, founded the wholesale optical laboratory and glasses manufacturer, Superior Optical Labs. By 2005, Superior Optical Labs was proudly providing glasses for veterans through our contracts with the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

Then 3 years ago, service-disabled US Navy veteran Mr. Derek Bodart took the helm at Superior Optical Labs with a new mission – to expand our incredible service from veterans to active military and their families too.
